Citizens Advice Direct

Website Redevelopment

Delivery of a redesigned public facing website for Citizens Advice Direct, providing multi-channel access to advice. The website was built using the open source Umbraco Content Management System and features include live on-line chat, e-mail advice, on-line enquiry submission, enhanced graphic design, improved content management and SMS messaging facilities. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques were used to improved search rankings. The site was redesigned to attract a wider demographic audience and enhance the provision of on-line advice.

Implementation of eSquiggles Mobile Risk Assessment Software

Implementation of the eSquiggles Mobile Risk Assessment software within the University's Estates Department. The solution is used to better manage data collection, paperwork and reports generated during statutory compliance related testing, inspections and reactive maintenance tasks. Used initially for legionella risk assessments, the system has now been rolled out to manage the process in a number of key areas including waste management, fire alarm testing, appliance testing and lift maintenance. eSquiggles runs on any Windows mobile PDA and automates data collection, document creation, job scheduling and asset tracking.

Mobile Working Software

This product website which was designed to inform, engage and act as the hub of the online marketing strategy. The site features blogs, video, animation and secure client login areas. The site is built on a Wordpress content management system which allows dynamic update of content and drives Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Focused Google Pay Per Click campaigns and off page SEO have secured the website's position at the top of the rankings and propelled the product to the forefront in a competitive marketplace.

VoloTV

Development of On-Train Entertainment System

Pulsion was a key software supplier within the Volo TV consortium which developed a state of the art on-train entertainment system. The system provides on demand TV which is a world first on trains and can now be used by thousands of passengers across First Great Western's high speed train fleet. Provided via touch screen monitors, the system is fully interactive allowing customers to view and listen to journey information, TV and news on a pay-per-journey basis. Pulsion was solely responsible for the software development which manages online payments, online registration, SMS customer messaging, management reporting and processing of the media content.

Website development & Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Development of an eCommerce website, including features such as shopping cart, online payments, voucher system and fully integrated stock and invoice management. Pulsion provided a full managed service and in addition to web design and support, developed and implemented an SEO strategy. Key elements of the SEO strategy included on and off page keyword optimisation, Google adword and email marketing campaigns and link building. Following months of focused SEO activity, the site achieved its goal of ranking on the first page of Google for a number of competitive keyword search terms.

Tenant Deposit

Online Payment Website

Pulsion Technology was engaged to design and develop a system to administer Tenant Deposit's Zero Deposit Guarantee scheme, an insurance backed scheme which replaces the traditional up-front deposit required by landlords. Using the .Net system, landlords and/or estate agents can create new guarantees for their tenants and a client acceptance environment where tenants confirm their registration by making an initial credit card payment. This creates an insurance guarantee, which triggers recurring monthly payments throughout the lifetime of the guarantee. Version 2 incorporated building and/or contents cover, rent guarantees and a Student Deposit scheme.

Citizens Advice Scotland

Electronic Case Management

Part funded by Scottish and UK Governments, this project centred around bespoke development and implementation of Pulsion's Caman Case management solution to automate and streamline case handling across Citizens Advice Bureaux service outlets. Uses core case management functionality including document management, workflow, electronic case handling and call-centre management. Management reporting at a local and national level. Integrates with external knowledge base system and QAS address software.

SPH OneSearch

Development of a GIS based map rendering system

Development and support of a digital map rendering and display system. The use of modern mapping technologies allows staff to overlay GIS data on various base map sets, including the Ordnance Survey's MasterMap product and Google Maps. The system acts as a repository for GIS information. It and allows producers of Property Enquiry Certificates to find a property and surrounding area on a map and be presented with a graphical visualization of pre-populated GIS data. Integration with existing IT systems including the Online Property Search System.
