Facing the challenges with technology
The specific technologies deployed as part of citizen-led service strategies may differ from organisation to organisation but on the whole the ICT focus continues to be primarily on citizen self service, mobile & remote working, integration and collaboration. The recession continues to have an impact and present challenges across the public sector and it is apparent it is forcing public sector organisations to improve on procurement practices, increase focus on shared services and improve on previous investments. When large scale investment is becoming less of an option, the focus is on existing systems and ensuring they are integrated.
