Business System Analyst, Glasgow

Job Details

Pulsion Technology is looking to hire several full-time permanent Business Systems Analysts to help support our growing customer base. You will be ideally ISEB certified with 3+ years’ experience in analysis and system design using both Agile and Waterfall techniques.

The role would be best suited to BA’s who have come from a technical background; having previously been closely involved in the development process and have experience of the full software development lifecycle methods and tools.

You will be working with our Glasgow based customers (either in-house or on-site) writing and developing user stories and supporting development teams throughout the project lifecycle. You will manage close working relationships with Product Owners, Heads of Service and the development and test teams throughout the project and have significant interaction with the wider stakeholder base.

In addition to the above, the ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong aptitude for logical thinking, as well as exceptional communication skills, and the ability to conceive of, and facilitate, effective digital solutions.

Applicant Requirements

  • Business Analysis – high level and detailed analysis including workshop facilitation, eliciting requirements and translating these into functional/technical solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience of the full software development lifecycle methods and tools.
  • A good understanding of modelling – business processes and logical data modelling (eg. BPML or UML)
  • Digital projects (web/mobile development, digital transformation, etc.)
  • Waterfall and Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
  • QA/Acceptance Testing
  • Documentation – writing technical documents that include functional specifications, proposal materials such as estimates, user stories, test plans, process flows, etc.
  • Communication and stakeholder management.

Key elements:

Technical Project Manager, Glasgow

Job Details

Pulsion Technology is looking to hire a full-time permanent Technical Project Manager to help support our growing customer base. You will ideally hold a project management certification (PRINCE2/PMI) and/or an Agile certification (CSM/CSPO) with 5+ years’ experience in technical project management using both Agile and Waterfall techniques.

You will be working in our Glasgow office supporting customer projects and development teams throughout the project lifecycle. You will manage close working relationships with customers, development and test teams reporting to the Head of Project Delivery.

In addition to the above, the ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong aptitude for logical thinking, as well as exceptional communication skills, and the ability to conceive of, and facilitate, effective digital solutions.

The successful candidate will be tasked with leading the delivery of a wide range of technical projects including UX/Website builds, working closely with technical leads/teams to effectively deliver. An excellent communicator, you will be used to engaging with stakeholders to create project plans, leading project reviews, identifying opportunities and proposing solutions to client issues, owning and maintaining project risk logs and delivering projects at the agreed time and cost.

Applicant Requirements

  • Extensive Project Management / Technical Team Lead experience within a software delivery focused environment
  • Experience of managing the day to day running of assigned projects, ideally within a consultancy/client facing environment
  • A background in delivering project management, based around Agile / iterative methodologies
  • You will be an expert in Agile / iterative development methodologies, but flexible to adopt a ‘best fit’ approach depending on the demands of the project
  • You will have strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and a broad knowledge of development, test and support
  • You will have exceptional stakeholder management skills and will be able to communicate effectively with technical teams and both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of working on bespoke software development projects
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence
  • A technical background, ideally in hands-on software engineering
